Blessed from God’s works for the good
Thursday 16 November 2006
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)
When Pastor Li was hospitalized and came to know that he had liver cancer, my home phone never ceased ringing. I had to repeat his situation many times, which was a bit unbearable for me indeed. Our children began to evade from receiving phone calls and even went out more often. Our daily lives were also hectic. So I started to think if there were ways to save our time. Though we had no knowledge on blog production at all, thank God, during the first week when I was extremely confused, He let me think of using a blog to spread our news. Then all parties, including co-workers who care about him, brothers and sisters at church and our relatives can understand his most updated situation simultaneously. Besides, this can also save us much time for making replies.
God’s ways are higher than our ways. To us, a blog has a second function. When we heard from the doctor that nothing further could be done and we could try a new medication still at clinical stage during the next follow-up treatment……, on one hand, we were struggling deep inside while on the other hand, we were asking for God’s guidance in our prayers. Is he really going to be a guinea pig? At this moment, some brothers and sisters in Lord, whom we didn’t know or were not very familiar with took the initiative to contact us through the blog, saying that they were moved to introduce some natural ways of healing to us. This is a third road apart from Chinese and Western medicine. What I got from the Lord was that at his present situation, Pastor Li can also adopt dietotherapy and increase his immunity, which have been bestowed to us long ago when He created us.
The blog serves a third function, namely a bridge when it is inconvenient for Pastor Li to go around. He still has to write his life sermon to encourage and comfort those brothers and sisters who are in suffering as he is through words. At the same time, he himself is also strengthened and blessed. Among them, some brothers and sisters were healed by God and we praised God for them while some are still in agony and pain and we encourage one another with the words of God. Some of them suffered from cancer before but now they can take care of other patients. We thank the Lord for them.
Prayer items:
1. His SGOT has risen to 500, (SGPT:74), so he is rather tired. Pray that God will reprimand the evil one and reduce his SGOT so that his liver can function properly.
2. Thank God! The AFP index figure has dropped to over half of the figure recorded initially, but the figure is still very large. Pray that God will continue to heal him and make the cancer cells perish.
